Roof repair and restoration
Wind-lifted shingles, worn valleys and failed flashing at brick chimneys repaired when the damage is limited and the decking is sound.
Chapter 01
Repair or replace: the honest line
The first question on any repair call is whether the roof is worth repairing. If the damage is limited to one area and the decking under it is sound, a repair is the right answer, and Ted will tell you so even though a replacement is the bigger job. If the damage is widespread, the decking is soft or the same repairs keep coming back, a replacement is the better answer than one more patch.
You get that answer in writing after a free inspection, not over the phone and not under pressure. Ashonda Lloyd wrote in her Google review that two other roofing companies rushed her to decide, and that Ted came out on a Saturday and asked them to take their time. That is how an estimate should feel, whether the roof is in Detroit, Inkster or Melvindale.

Asphalt shingle roof valley with a pipe boot, flashing and fallen leaves gathered along the line
The usual Detroit repairs
Wind lifts shingles whose sealant strip has aged out, and a lifted tab is a door for water. We reseal or replace the ones that failed and look at the courses around them, because wind rarely takes just one. Vent pipes are the other usual suspect: the rubber collar on a plumbing vent boot cracks in the sun and the cold, and water runs down the pipe into the ceiling below. It is a small repair with a big payoff, and we see it from Taylor to Warren.
On older brick homes, chimney flashing fails where metal meets mortar, and the fix is more than a bead of sealant: the flashing is reset or renewed so water goes around the chimney, not into it. Valleys wear from years of water and debris running down the same line, and a worn valley is where leaves collect and ice dams grip. We clear it, check the shingle edges along it, and repair or reline what has failed.
Chapter 03
What a repair buys, and what comes after
A good repair buys time and does not pretend to be more. Restoration work on a sound roof can add years, and T&M backs the work with a 10-year labor warranty, so the repair itself is covered. The written estimate says exactly what is being fixed and what is not. If we see something else on the roof that will need attention later, it goes on the paper as its own line, for you to decide on.
Water coming in tonight is a different call. Move valuables away, set a bucket under the drip, keep clear of a sagging ceiling and stay off the roof in the dark or in bad weather, then call (313) 600-4538. If water is still coming in after a storm, we tarp the roof first and schedule the repair after. We cover Detroit and about 60 miles around it under Michigan licence #262400794, and seniors, veterans and first responders get a discount.
